Theresa Broussard Comstock, a Beaumont, Texas native, began her dance training with Regional Dance America Company Beaumont Civic Ballet under the direction of Monique Steinhagen and Marsha Woody Zummo.  With the Beaumont Civic Ballet Theresa performed principal roles in numerous ballets including The Nutcracker, Giselle, La Fille Mal Gardee, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter and the Wolf and also in original works by Robert LaFosse, Krissy Richmond, Victoria Vittum, and Jon Marshall Sharp throughout the United States and Europe.  After High School Theresa attended Texas Christian University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Ballet as a Fine Arts Guild Scholarship recipient.

Theresa studied under Elizabeth Gillaspy, Susan Douglas Roberts, Ellen Page Shelton, Li-Chou Cheng, Dian West, and the late Fernando Bujones. While at TCU Theresa performed in works by Fernando Bujones, Andy Parkhurst, Christian Von Howard, Jessica Lang, Elizabeth Gillaspy, and Li-Chou Cheng, amongst others. After college Theresa immediately began her professional career with regional Equity theatre: the Music Theatre of Wichita (MTW) performing in the Chorus in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Me and My Girl,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and as Teresita in “West Side Story.”  After performing with MTW Theresa moved to New York City where she danced professionally with Modern dance company the Von Howard Project under the direction of Christian von Howard.  Theresa also performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland with Modern Dance Company Bodyart based out of New York City.  

While living in New York City Theresa taught and choreographed throughout the country.  She has taught ballet, jazz, modern and musical theatre in various dance studios and universities in Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut and South Carolina.  Most recently Theresa was the Ballet Director for Trilogy Dance Center in San Antonio, TX where she staged a mini production of "The Nutcracker", excerpts from "The Sleeping Beauty" and many other original works.  Theresa has been a guest teacher at Lamar University, Winthrop University, Columbia College, Rutgers University, Beaumont Civic Ballet, San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet and Berks Ballet Theatre.  She has also traveled throughout the country choreographing for schools and regional dance companies including Berks Ballet Theatre, San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet and Insight Dance Ensemble.  Theresa recently relocated to the Central Coast with her husband Casey and two daughters Lily Kate and Maddy Beth.  She is thrilled to be teaching at Class Act Dance!
