Wendy Levanway, MS, ATC, PES
|
Ballet Instructor

Wendy was born and raised in California and fell in love with dance at a young age.  After performing professionally for 6 years, competing internationally, and teaching, she returned to school and became involved with sports medicine. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training, from Vanguard University, and Masters of Science in Performance Enhancement, from California University of Pennsylvania.  In 2006, she became certified in Athletic Training, and has been a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science for 7 years.

She has been trained in the Vagonava technique, has many years of experience in Pas de Deux, and is proficient in many forms of dance, such as modern, tap, jazz, flamenco, and Spanish classical.  Wendy attended Colorado Ballet and American Ballet Theatre’s summer programs, and has participated in several competitions including Prix de Lausanne, International Ballet Competition at Varna, Youth America Grand Prix, and Palm Desert Choreographer Festival.  She has taught ballet at various studios in the Central Coast of California and Orange County, CA, and her repertoire includes various classical ballets and contemporary works.  Wendy danced professionally for State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara and performed as a guest artist with Central California Ballet, Valley Performing Arts Council, and Daria Bearden Foundation.

In 2006, Wendy moved to NY and combined her education with her extensive dance background to begin working as an athletic trainer with the Radio City Rockettes and Cirque du Soleil’s Wintuk.  She recently moved back to the central coast and worked as athletic trainer at Mission Collegiate Preporatory High School, Paso Robles High School, Morro Bay High school, and at the SLO Marathon.

Wendy looks forward to incorporating her artistic knowledge of dance with her scientific knowledge of the human body to prevent injuries and improve anatomical education.

Wendy now resides with her husband, Elias, in Morro Bay, California, where he is the Head Football Athletic Trainer for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  They are the proud parents of 2 daughters, 4-year-old Zoya and 2-year-old Audrey.
