Amy Wescom
Jazz Company Director, Choreographer
Amy Wescom, Jazz Company Director, Class Act Dance, Paso Robles, CA

Amy began her dance career at the age of four with Miss Janice and Leslie Brand in Orange County, CA. After moving to San Luis Obispo County at the age of nine, she trained under the direction of Leslie Baumberger and Pat Jackson at Pat Jackson's American Dance for 14 years, dancing in the Junior American, Young American and American Dance Companies. During Amy's junior year of high school, Amy was invited to Class Act Dance to choreograph a hip-hop routine for the CAD Jammers dance company. She was a member of Jazz 'N' Company at Paso Robles High School for four years and voted in as president in her senior year. Amy attended Allan Hancock College from 1995 to 1998 where she was a member of their dance ensemble and achieved her AA in dance. In 1998, Amy moved back to Orange County to attend the University of California, Irvine where she focused on choreography before graduating with her BA in Dance in 2000. After graduation, Amy moved to NYC with a group of friends to experience the energy of New York. While in New York, Amy worked as a make-up artist for MAC Cosmetics in Macy's most coveted 34th Street store, while studying dance at Broadway Dance Center.

In 2001, Amy moved back to the Central Coast to teach and direct a company at American Dance of SLO under the direction of Lissa Beck.  Shortly after, she gave birth to her baby boy, Koby James Paul and in 2007 to her "sugar plum fairy" in training, Kyra Christine. She then was invited to choreograph for the PRHS Jazz 'N' Company by Daphne Benavides and continues to work with fellow former American Dancer, Jennifer Bedrosian.

Amy prides herself on providing excellent training and sharing all of her experiences with her students. She excels in lyrical and contemporary dance styles because she loves to bring out the passion to dance in her students with their movement and their relationship to the music.

Amy would like to thank Cheryle Armstrong, Nancy Beckett & Molly Comin for giving her such an amazing opportunity to teach and direct at Class Act Dance & Performing Arts Studio. She would also like to thank her husband, Matt and kids for their continued support. Last, but not least, she would like to thank her mother, for being the best cheerleader and never missing a show.... ever! To Grams, Gramps, UB, UM & PJ, thank you for the spiritual guidance & angel wings!
